Dr. Cheryl Rosenfeld: Environmental Dangers of BPA

Could BPA (Bisphenol A) be affecting the way Painted Turtles’ brains are wired? A team of scientists led by researchers at the University of Missouri’s Bond Life Sciences Center thinks so. Dr. Cheryl Rosenfeld, the primary investigator on the study “BPA Can Disrupt Sexual Function in Turtles, Could be a Warning for Environmental Health”, talked with Big Blend Radio about how the team determined that BPA can disrupt sexual function in painted turtles, causing males to develop female sex organs. Cheryl is an associate professor of biomedical sciences in the MU College of Veterinary Medicine and an investigator in the Bond Life Sciences Center.
