Elaine A. Powers, originally from Peoria, IL, currently resides in Tucson, AZ. After a career as a laboratory biologist, she is now pursuing her dream of writing science-based children’s books, murder mysteries and audio theatre scripts. Elaine continues her work as a citizen scientist for iguana conservation, serving on the IUCN Iguana Specialist Group. She is a founding member of the Tucson Sisters in Crime chapter and President of the Tucson Poetry Society and Vice President of the Arizona State Poetry Society.
